Great place to go with friends, or to bring your parents too! I've seen a band at the Nines, shared a steaming bowl of darn good chili with my mom, and chowed down on fantastic pizza with buds, all at this one place--definitely worth stopping by for a quality meal.

Located conveniently in Collegetown for Cornell students, the Nines offers great pizza. You can have one of their pre-made pizzas or design your own. They have both regular crust and deep dish styles.

We ordered pizza for delivery. The pizza showed up on time, but was burnt, and half the cheese had spilled off to the side. I was treated rudely over the phone when I asked to get a replacement pizza and a discount for my extra wait. When the replacement pizza arrived an hour later, again the cheese had completely slid to the side. Figured there was no use putting up with the manager's abuse again, and ordered a pizza from a different restaurant. Good luck if you choose this restaurant.

By far the BEST pizza in Ithaca! Being a college town we have a TON of pizza joints. None can hold a candle to the Nines though. As earlier reviewers said, when the music is on it is too loud for "dining" (unless it's summer and you can eat on the patio). That being said, this is also a great place to check out the local music scene.

One of the neat things about the Nines is their kitchen is upstairs and your pizzas come down to you by dumbwaiter.

Pool and darts are also on scene.

  • Pros: Great pizza and great music.
  • Cons: Loud and crowded when school is in session.

Even if you're not a deep dish fan, go for it here. It's not only some of the best deep dish you'll find, it's also the only good thing on the menu. Except for the corn fritters -- they're pretty damn tasty, even if they are courtesy of Sysco.

  • Pros: Great atmosphere, great deep dish pies.
  • Cons: SERVICE

The Nines has great live music, with many different local bands with a chance in the spotlight. The Nines is a great place to gather a group for a few (or many) drinks. Their Pizza is especially famous around Ithaca, and is sent from the kitchen via a dumbwaiter. Go for the food, stay for the music.

If you like deep dish pizza, this is the place for you. This place has the best in the area. The garlic cheese bread is pretty good too. Can get rather crouded when college is in session, and I'd avoid it on nights they have live music as they blare the sound system so loud you can't hear the person seated next to you even when they yell. However, they DO deliver. :)

  • Pros: best pizza around, nice set-up, good service
  • Cons: crowded, parking sucks

My best friend from college and I NEVER missed pizza at the Nines every time we went back. I'm craving it as I write this... and I live in New York so go figure.
