terrible waitress / food. I ate there this year (2007) . It almost felt like the waitress hated us the moment she saw us bunch of girls. Using very mean comments, no service at table, had us waiting for 50 minutes (four of us), The food she eventually brought tasted like it had been days old

Quick Service. Souvlaki House has great food. It is very popular with college students. If your looking for a romantic setting, this is the place. The menu has some of the best selections from this part of the world. The backlava is probably their most popular takeoout, and the french fries are the best because they are actually crispy. If you plan on eating with a group, make reservatons ahead of time, especially if you plan to eat at night. Their pasta seems to be their most popular dish.

best Greek food in the area. This is my favorite restaurant. I'm from Elmira, and we drive all the way to Ithaca just to eat here - the food is that good. The souvlaki is awesome, whether you prefer the traditional lamb, or want chicken or beef. And don't forget a piece of baklava to take with you when you leave - it is sinfully good. The staff is friendly, and you get good, prompt service. Best of all, I have never had to wait for a table. Oh, and they are very inexpensive.

Don't let the decor fool you.
