Ithaca's BEST Local Shoe Store. I just bought a new pair of winter boots at Fontana's. The boots are excellent quality- warm and waterproof. Besides carrying great footwear, the reason I gave the store 5 stars is because the customer service is wonderful. The staff knows the products they are selling and seems sincerely interested in helping customers find the perfect fit. They're friendly people who are truly helpful, without being pushy, hovering, or trying to sell you things you don't want/need. I will continue to shop here for as long as I live in Ithaca!

Even the sales clerks know what they are talking about when it comes to shoes and shoe repair.. 'Bought my first pair of hiking boots at Fontana's in the 70's ... and I'm still wearing them ... those boots have seen every gorgeous view in the Northeast and Midwest. We have been living in Chicago for decades now, but I still bring my wardrobe of shoes back to Ithaca for repair!
